Professional Biography

Dr. Gupta grew up in the Midwest and then moved to Texas after high school. She graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Houston and then received her medical degree from the American University of Antigua. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma, where she also served as Chief Resident. During her residency, she focused her research on Diabetes Prevention. She subsequently completed her Endocrinology fellowship at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she had the honor of taking care of our country’s veterans at one of the premier V.A. Medical Centers in the country. Her research during fellowship concentrated on osteoporosis, both in prevention of fractures, as well as studying effects of medications on bone health. Dr. Gupta previously practiced as an endocrinologist in Maryland and Austin for several years but has since moved back to Houston to be closer to her family.

She is a double board-certified adult endocrinologist and has the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) for additional training in thyroid ultrasound and biopsy. She has specific interests in diabetic technology, bone and calcium disorders, and management of endocrine diseases in pregnancy. She is an active member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

She enjoys spending her free time reading, knitting, and stargazing. She stays active by running after her toddler and is known for her friendly bedside manner and for putting her patients at ease.
